Aphonopelma Moderatum

.25" sling

Also known as the Rio Grande Gold. They are a docile species that will run off when startled. They are a terrestrial species that would prefer to have more substrate in their enclosure. We keep ours with a starter burrow and hide with half the container filled with substrate. At their current size they are utilizing the provided hide but will burrow when they get older.

They are native to Texas and are happy between 70-75°F. We water them a bit and let them dry out over the week. They are happy between 20-40% humidity as they are a desert species. We provide a water dish for them to drink from as well. The females will live 25-35 years with males living 7-10 years. They are slow growing and will get up to 5 inches.
