Hello Everyone,
Today I want to introduce to you Raspberry! Raspberry is our Pink Toed Tarantula (Avicularia Avicularia). He has been through somethings unfortunately but is one of the most relaxed tarantulas we have when it comes to handling (as an aside we no longer handle our tarantulas unless we have to). Raspberry had a very interesting time when it first came into our care. My man's daughter wanted to hold her to show her dad how cool she was (I do not recommend this move if you are terrified of spiders). Needless to say, Raspberry was nearly rolled on when the child panicked and tried to roll the tarantula off. Raspberry, thankfully, decided to take a leap off onto the bed for safety. No tarantulas or humans were (physically) harmed in the making of that family moment. It was that moment that taught us, as new tarantula owners, to treat them as fish and just look. Raspberry is a very relaxed tarantula and spends a lot of time on the glass of her enclosure. It's a running joke in our household about that tarantula always being out.
