Hello Everyone,
Today I want to introduce you to our lovely Miss Ophelia! She is a beautiful Feather Leg Baboon (Stromatopelma Calceatum). She is a beautiful girl with a lot of attitude. When we bought this girl, she was another pity purchase. She was in a deli cup that only allowed her to move about an inch in any given direction with a tiny patch of dirty she had webbed down and claimed as her own. When we brought her home to her new house, she was very unhappy. She is one of the only tarantulas that gave us a very aggressive threat posture and thumped the ground when we tried to prod her into her new home. She staked her claim on her tiny patch of dirt and she did not want to give it up. After some coaxing and a few fished out paint brushes later (yes, we lost our tools a few times) she was home! Where she will stay, and we will hopefully never have to bother her again (fingers crossed). Now, she seems to be much happier, in her upright log. Ophelia will even show off her tootsies to us every now and again and we are overjoyed every time. Don't let the attitude scare you, any well cared for tarantula would rather leave you alone then run out and bite you. That being said, I'm not sticking my hand in there.
Thanks for reading and happy adventuring!
